How To Care For Hair Extensions
Buying your first set of Remy couture extensions is an investment and if you want to make sure that your hair looks on point all the time, you need to know how best to go about looking after your luscious new locks.
Getting into a proper routine with haircare from the outset is wise so as soon as your extensions arrive, make sure you know exactly what you’re doing before you wear them. Remember that with the proper care and attention, your extensions can last for a year or more and stay looking healthy… and making sure that you always look your best.
It’s vital that you keep your hair pieces properly moisturised as they don’t have natural hydration like your real hair does. This is why you should try to avoid washing and drying them too much, and try not to use too many products on them, either.
Storing them properly is a must as well to avoid tangles and damage. Even after a big night out, make sure that you take them out carefully and make sure all the clips are shut properly.
Give them a gentle brush and then store them somewhere in cool and dry, and out of direct sunlight. Never store your extensions when they’re wet, as this could encourage bacteria growth.
When using products on your extensions, always read the ingredients as some may prove damaging to the strands. The likes of ethanol, sodium lauryl sulfate, propyl and isopropyl should all be avoided. Sulfates and alcohol can dry hair and make it more susceptible to matting and tangling.
